The Onion

This thought came to mind…

………….after a music weekend away with a friend I’ve know for many years.

She always felt she knew me very well we were best friends who would talk about everything and anything, but now she feels that I’ve  changed so much, but she has too.

Since Lockdown and COVID, I’ve spent time really trying to deepen my relationship with Jesus. I start my day with prayers for my closest family, my friends, Christian friends, work colleagues and people that cross my path in need.

Then throughout that day (lunch time & at home) I listen to various Bible plans on the Bible app.

I have found this of great benefit and it has given me wisdom and strengthened my discerning spirit.

My day job is hard, listening to callers saying they are struggling financially due to our current risen energy prices in this country.  Issues with homelessness and pending homelessness due to rising rents amongst other things.

As I am talking for over seven hours each day so I need quality time alone to recuperate. I can’t spend 100% of my spare time in the company of others without getting to a point of burn out .

At the weekends I need some quiet time to myself.

Over this weekend once we were awake there was no time to have that quiet time until bed time.  Then that time was noisy too.

Tv 📺

These days I’m only streaming my tv from apps. Not watching Reality TV or watching soaps.

I tend to read the news online.  I can’t miss the up to date info- we get told at work the state of play so we can advise callers accordingly. I listen to personal development audio books while travelling in the car, walking or washing up.

I also follow various organisations on Twitter for real time news.

People and their personalities are like an onion – intricate with

many layers- and sometimes you need to peel back a few layers to really appreciate what they are made of.

My friend told me she was worried about me, that I was living in a different world to her. Sadly, this turned into a heated debate.

Wisdom and discernment has effected my motivations and what I want to spend my time doing, now in my autumn years I feel life is short and I intend to spend my free time working towards something that will honour Jesus, give money to needy causes etc.

My day job role requires me to wear a mask. First layer of an onion. There are  certain ways I have to behave and appear when I interact with others. This makes me look more logical, reasonable and analytic personality even though sometimes I feel very emotional due to individuals situations.

I have to have a non bias opinion of what others do in their lives. Equality & Diversity is all around and I am not allowed an opinion on it.  Deal with people and not judge their choices.

I’ve spent the last 35+ years being Entrepreneurial and used the internet but most of my friends have no idea about this aspect of my life. Computers/technology haven’t been their interest but I love technology. I have learnt so much in all these years.

Life is a journey and it’s important to move forward and embrace different opportunities and realise that our decisions to do different things shouldn’t make us wrong!

It’s important for us to say, think and speak in a positive way towards others and also about ourselves. Otherwise your life is difficult and you are drawing negativity to yourself.

I believe that Jesus has given me new friendships in the past year and I have got to know others who have been in the background of my life.

The second layer of the onion is where  your mask is taken off. People become more themselves when they are at home with  family, friends  or the ones closest to them. They are not  too cautious about how they are seen and communicate with others. In this layer we tend to take our mask off with our first connections.

The sub layers of this mid layer are personality, your values, your vision and your perspective of life.

People are here more open to talk about their real inner self.It is much easier to communicate at this layer. People are more friendly, more welcoming and open in building longer relationship.

The third layer is the deep layer which only you know yourself. It is where you hide your feelings, emotions, thoughts, desires, wishes, fears nobody can reach, It is also the layer where you hide your heart, loves, disappointments, burdens. It is called the bottom of  heart.

This layer is the sources of life time relationships and strong trust to each other.

There is another layer which is the  deepest and hidden that even people themselves  don’t know or not aware about it. Some people with so called 6th sense, can reach or read this layer. This layer has direct connection to subconscious.

The Sober Friend….

On a sobering note ……..

If you consider drinking and driving these days. With the amount of daily accidents on our roads it really is not at all wise. If you are involved in an accident and even if it’s not your fault you could loose your licence and even go to prison if someone gets injured or killed.

I’d loose my job if I lost my licence and no doubt you would too!!

In the autumn, my family made me promise not to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking, my son says he doesn’t want me to miss all the celebrations of the forth coming birthdays and Christmases in future years.

I know people turn to alcohol in times of stress. Go home after work and have a strong drink. But, I’ve cut back on drinking because my daily expenses have risen with the price of diesel and commuting to the office 3 or 4 days a week. Also, the increase in energy bills.

Actually, I feel a lot healthier for drinking less.

What is your Passion and Purpose?

My passion and purpose is to be an Entrepreneur and to inspire others to use their gifts.  It all started with the fact that our family history on my Father’s side originates from the Native Sioux Indian, via Grandmother who was in the Entertainments Business with Buffalo Bill‘s Circus

Sioux Indian’s are very spiritual – I have to confess to not knowing that much about them sadly but I do know and understand that they were very Psychic –  and my Father had inherited the gift of PsychometryHe was very good at this and helped a lot of people.  Lots of people came to our home to have a consultation.

I had a really good relationship with my father until my mother and I joined the local Church of England Church and I was confirmed in 1971.  I think following the Christian faith and spiritually it was rather conflicting.  Spiritualism is part of the Occult – Darkness v Light.  after my Confirmation my father and I didn’t get along so well.

I was musical, was involved with singing and I learnt to play the guitar at school, participated in the choir and our school regularly put on concerts and musicals, both at my junior and the secondary school that I attended though being a Christian at school was another conflicting situation, so I didn’t have many friends and when I left school I went straight into Banking.  I worked hard but didn’t get promotion and then was introduced to a job at the local theatre setting up the drinks in the interval.  For seven years I used to work over 60 hours a week, in the Bank during the day and at the Theatre in the evenings.

In my early twenties I was re-united with my school friend who had chosen to go into the Hairdressing profession and she led me into Network Marketing,  while I was out and about in the evening with Party Planning I met my future husband,

From time to time I had gone along and had the occasional Tarot card reading, which strangely enough from time to time was quite accurate and just before I was due to marry I went and had my birth chart drawn up.  Sadly, I lost the information but did remember that I was told not to get married to this person, that we would be in conflict all the time! Well, it was too late to back out and hurt a lot of people so we got married in 1993 and had two lovely children, who are now teenagers and a great credit to us both, but sadly our relationship didn’t survive and we divorced in 2002.

SERVANT

When i had my birth-chart drawn up I was also advised that I was going to be a “Servant” “Writer” and also a “Nurse”

Well life being a journey and all these possibilities didn’t seem like they would happen to me at the time.

The years that followed the marriage break-up have been challenging and I have been glad of my involvement with the Church as a solid foundation to build my life on the ROCK of Jesus Christ.  I committed my life to Jesus and became “Born Again” in 1997, my son was born in this year and also my Mother past away.

In my early twenties through to my late thirties I was on the committee for a local social club and had a very active social life also so community building is something I have learnt with recruiting people into the club

When my children were at their junior school  I used to be a leader via the church with their youth club, I undertook this position for seven years. This also led me to go into their school with other church leaders for the “Jesus and Me Club”called “JAM Club”

In 2002 – I went back to college as a mature student and undertook the City and Guilds Diploma in IT ( the link is for info – I studied at Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne) and also changed my church and joined the Christian Outreach Centre Movement and undertook the Spirit, Soul and Body Bible School for two years.                                                                                        Within the Church we undertook the D.I.S.C personality test  and this is where I then understood the concept the Servant and Servant Leadership.

Click on the link above to read the section “Characteristics of being a Servant Leader”

Thankfully due to my working life I have gained the experience to be a good communicator  and I am competent to make decisions.            My Spiritual Gifts give me the discernment to pay attention to what remains unspoken and it is therefore important to listen to my inner voice\affimation from the Holy Spirit.  I can rely on that inner voice in order to understand what the body, mind and spirit are communicating.        I really love technology and I have been willing to follow and learn from the Social Media Experts and Geeks to learn all i can and now my ideal client is someone who is a true Entrepreneur. Combing with my passion for music really gives me the passion to help Musicians though i am willing to extend my services to everyone connected with the Entertainments Industry.    In the past three years I have got involved with the local “Rock Music Community of Bands and Supporters and have made connectiions and new friends via their Community in London and World-wide.

WRITER –

I created this Blog – Daily Ramblings of a Professional Networker

to portray the “Life of Networking” online and offline. A diary of life experiences.   I have had severe writer’s block for the past two years when i started to combine it with “Encouragement and Life Coaching”  I had started to train to be a “Life Coach” but finding the people who wanted a coach and also the people i wanted to coach was a challenge.  This is something i have had to put on hold temporarily for the time being though I pro-actively work as a Personal IT Coach and share articles and write articles that i share as a Social Media Expert.

NURSE

I am about to embark on a course to train to be a Carer in the Community.  I will be looking after people that rely on someone to come in and help them to remain independant by staying in their own homes.   I will be doing this on a part time basis so i can also continue with my passion and purpose as an Entrepreneur to network with those that have the heart-felt motivation to inspire others to use their Entreprenerial Talents especially in the Entertainments Industry…

Assistance will be available in your Trials and Struggles!

God will help you in your trials and struggles.  He knows the people that you need to help you and the resources you need to get the job done and when we ask him, he will provide them.  If we are open to see, we can see God’s hand at work in what ever we are going through today.

Struggles don’t go away, but if we can alter our mindset to the way we see them, not be too passive, but to confront these situations.

I have had a very painful hand for the past couple of months, I have had prayer for it and it has eased up but recently I have been working very hard and I come to realise that it must be repetitive strain with using my USB Mouse.  Today, the Mouse is not working and I have had to result to using the square mouse or what ever you might call it on my laptop which previously I gave up with as it was too slow.  Probably for the best as I don’t want to be crippled for life, so you could say that in this situation God was moving as he showed me a better way to work.

The greatest gap between successful people and unsuccessful people is the thinking gap.

This is especially so when it comes to failure. Successful people see failure as a regular part of success, and they get over it.

When you try and do something and you fail, you know you need to try something new next time.

Attitude changes not to feel a failure but to feel that indeed life is full of challenges waiting to be overcome.

Successful people keep learning and moving forward.  Keeping that positive attitude in your mind will enable you to move forward in what you want to do!

A Heartfelt Attitude of Thankfulness is Necessary to Overcome Day-to-Day Challenges

In order to recover at a physical or emotional level I need to maintain my spiritual level.’

Daily prayer and a heartfelt attitude of thankfulness is a necessity to keep in God’s presence and draw my strength from Him enabling me to be equal to the challenges I  face on any given day.

Spiritual roots capable of drawing in the ways and strength of the Lord give potential for success.

A daily mindset is to believe in my own potential, make plans and set achievable goals to undertake each week.

I am involved in a few different industrial sectors and in order to make them all income related streams I need to be active in all of them on a weekly basis.

The beginning of the year is like a new page, a new start in life.  I have briefly looked back and reflect on my past endeavors and decide to do better this year.

Ending last year I started to write about my daily strategy. http://dailyramblingsofanetworkingpro.blogspot.com/  On a working basis it is important to me to demonstrate my ability to be visible on the Internet as this is my main core service that I offer to my clientele – “Have to Walk the Talk” fortunately last year I undertook some work in my sector that gave me some additional training that I am now able to apply to my own marketing endeavors and this is helping me to create a product that I can sell to my new clients.

Thursday

An Effective Mentor always tries to put themselves in the learner’s place.

Carefully and tactfully correct someone, looking at the situation from their view point, with the aim to be their advocate and not their adversary to give them that reassurance that you intentionally have that desire to see them grow as a person in character to enable them to succeed.

People that have had a history of abuse in their childhood or have been involved in an abusive relationship with a partner or spouse may have had to overcome a victim mentality.  If you have played the “Blame Game” for long enough you will feel that all situations that you are involved in – the fault may lie with yourself.

When you are caught up in a shame spiral your natural reflexes to accept and process criticism don’t comprehend too well.  If you have been made to feel like you were never valued and were useless and stupid, and now you instinctively give too much power to criticism.

You need to look at yourself and what you are good at, then you can re-build your self-esteem.  You need to be accountable to someone who will guide you and encourage you to meet your goals one step at a time.  A Life Coach can help you to move forward.

Wednesday

We know that being on the receiving end of criticism doesn’t make you feel all that great.  In fact depending on where you are in your life it can make you feel quite down in the dumps.   So in a day to day environment it is vital to keep all your comments even in general conversation positive and uplifting to those you are conversing with.

All our opinions are in fact valuable to us but may not be in agreement with others and it is important to be diplomatic and not destroy our friendships/relationships by forcing our opinions on to them. In matters of principle and moral code for your own life, don’t move away from what is right, in matters of taste be flexible and give others the benefit of the doubt.

If you are creating constant conflictions with others you may give yourself an ulcer, best solution when you have made your point is to back off and make time to learn more about that person or get some more facts about the issue

Focus on here and now, time is a precious commodity that has to be used productively.  Time Management is important, staying on track with your immediate goals and being true to who you are as a person with regards to your moral code and conduct and life principles may not make you popular with everyone, but will draw people to you of whom will help to propel you forward and help you to meet your targets and goals.

Securing our Future

Everyday I am working with the main thought and motive in mind to secure my family’s future.

Family –  my daughter Sonia and son Julian.

Sonia has just started 6th form/yr 12 and Julian is in yr 10. They have so many needs and finance is needed to be able to provide enough money so that have a good start in Life.

I am fortunate that both of them are really in to the Social Media, they both have accounts on Facebook with over 800 friends. Using the different SM applications they just find it all so simple as they have grown up with a keyboard in their hand.

Business – I am interested to network with people that have integrity and right standing in the community..

I love to find out what gets other people motivated.   Desire to achieve has to be matched with ability.  This is one of the reasons why I have been keen to encourage my children in what ever they have chosen to do to try and nurture the main core ability within them.  With my son it has been difficult as he never seems to commit to anything for any length of time.  Recently, I have said to him that he shouldn’t commit to things and keep letting other people down, important to see things through to the end, even if then you don’t carry on, do it for the period of time that you have agreed to.

Currently he is doing a BTEC in Sports and really enjoys it, he is also into “Extreme Sports” and has been able to learn to build his own bicycle and now can also help other people.  Then he also likes the scooter and the same, he can find the parts, buy them and build his own scooter.  Takes after me – “A Trader” he creates and then he sells the finished item within his circle of friends and makes a profit with which he buys something better. .

Also, he is very good with Technology and now he has an IPhone4 he has been very helpful to me and also others who have bought one and also the IPad, here can set that up.  At church his job for service is the Lighting Technician – and also learning to understand the sound desk and computer equipment.

Sonia on the other-hand has tried different things that haven’t worked out, so she has had to go on to 6th form/yr 12 to re-study some of her GCSE’s  It was Sonia that let other people spoil it for her – dropped out of school at the end of yr ten.   Home-schooled for a few months and then went to be an Apprentice in the Hospitality Industry.  Didn’t work out…..

Sonia has rather intellectual interests – and in a lot of ways is quite adult for her years.

She loves documentaries  and history, quite the complete opposite to what I am interested in, so it is quite difficult for me to look at that and see ways to motivate.  But now she has expressed an interest to write and I am trying to get her to start to write her own Blog.  She is going to do a course on Movies/Journalism and I am sure she will get started on her Blog at some point soon.

So with everyone the desire must match the ability, being part of a team can help you to take on full sizes responsibility but not sole responsibility.  So motivating/ helping one person achieve will help the overall results of everyone.

You can motivate someone by putting them into the “spotlight” they will then work to uphold their reputation.

Get to know someone to understand what has motivated them in the past and then you can identify what would motivate them for now and in the future.
