So near and yet so far away

Sometimes life plays a bittersweet tune, reminding us that some things we desire are just out of reach. It’s moments like these that pull at the strings of our hearts, leaving us with a profound sense of longing and nostalgia.

Have you ever experienced that feeling? The sensation of being so close to something or someone, yet unable to bridge the gap that separates you? It’s as if the universe conspires to keep us apart, teasing us with the possibility of what could have been.

There are countless instances where we find ourselves yearning for a connection that remains elusive. Perhaps it’s a missed opportunity for love, a friendship that faded away, or a dream that never came to fruition. Whatever the case may be, the ache in our hearts can be overwhelming.

But amidst the sadness, there is a certain beauty in this sentiment. It reminds us of the depth of our emotions and the significance of the connections we form. It teaches us to cherish those fleeting moments of closeness, even if they are overshadowed by the distance that separates us.

Sometimes, the very act of longing can fuel our determination and inspire us to strive for what we desire most. It fuels our creativity, drives us to take risks, and encourages us to push beyond our comfort zones. It reminds us that life is a delicate dance between what we have and what we yearn for.

So, if you find yourself caught in the midst of this sentimental journey, take solace in knowing that you are not alone. Embrace the emotions that come with longing, for they are a testament to the depth of your heart. And remember, sometimes the most beautiful connections are forged in the spaces between “so near” and “so far away.” 🌌✨

Did You Learn Your Lesson?

The experience I went through taught me a valuable lesson that I will never forget. It was a challenging and sometimes painful journey, but it ultimately shaped me into a wiser and more resilient individual.

At first, I resisted the idea of learning from my mistakes. I was stubborn and believed that I knew better. However, life had other plans for me. It presented me with a series of setbacks and failures that forced me to confront my own limitations and shortcomings.

As I stumbled and fell, I began to realise that there was something to be gained from these experiences. I started to pay closer attention to the patterns and behaviors that led to my downfalls. I analyzed my actions and decisions, seeking to understand where I went wrong.

It was not an easy process. It required me to be brutally honest with myself and acknowledge my own flaws. I had to let go of my ego and accept responsibility for my mistakes. This was a humbling experience, but it was also liberating. It allowed me to take control of my own growth and development.

I sought guidance from mentors and sought out resources to expand my knowledge and skills. I read books, attended workshops, and engaged in meaningful conversations with people who had wisdom to share. I realized that learning from others’ experiences could save me from making the same mistakes they had made.

But the most important lesson I learned was the power of perseverance. I discovered that setbacks and failures were not the end of the road, but rather opportunities for growth. I learned to pick myself up, dust myself off, and keep moving forward. I embraced the idea that failure was not a reflection of my worth, but rather a stepping stone towards success.

Through this experience, I learned that learning from my mistakes was not a one-time event, but a lifelong journey. It required me to be open-minded, adaptable, and willing to change. It taught me the importance of self-reflection and continuous improvement.

Now, whenever I face a challenge or make a mistake, I approach it with a different mindset. I see it as an opportunity to learn and grow, rather than a reason to give up. I am grateful for the lessons I have learned and the person I have become as a result.

In conclusion, the experience I went through taught me the invaluable lesson of learning from my mistakes. It taught me to be humble, resilient, and open to growth. It transformed me into a better version of myself and continues to shape my journey towards personal and professional success.

Guard Your Heart – for everything you do flows from it.

Guard Your Heart

A Biblical Perspective on Health & Wellbeing.

In today’s fast-paced and interconnected world, it is becoming increasingly challenging to maintain a sense of peace and purity within our hearts. The Bible, however, provides us with timeless wisdom on how to guard our hearts and protect our innermost being.

Understanding the Heart:

The heart, as described in the Bible, is not merely the physical organ that pumps blood but refers to the core of our being, encompassing our thoughts, emotions, desires, and will. Proverbs 4:23 advises, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” This verse emphasizes the importance of protecting our hearts as it influences our actions, attitudes, and relationships.

Recognizing the Threats:

To effectively guard our hearts, we must first identify the potential threats that can negatively impact our innermost being. The Bible warns us about various dangers, including negative influences, sinful desires, unhealthy relationships, and worldly distractions. These threats can lead to bitterness, anger, envy, lust, and other destructive emotions that hinder our spiritual growth.

Practical Steps to Guard Your Heart Biblically:

1. Fill your heart with God’s Word: Regularly reading and meditating on the Scriptures helps us align our thoughts and desires with God’s truth. Psalm 119:11 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” By immersing ourselves in God’s Word, we gain wisdom, discernment, and the ability to resist temptation.

2. Cultivate a prayerful life: Prayer is a powerful tool that allows us to communicate with God and seek His guidance, strength, and protection. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to “not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Through prayer, we invite God into our hearts, allowing Him to guard and transform us from within.

3. Choose your company wisely: Surrounding ourselves with godly influences is crucial in guarding our hearts. Proverbs 13:20 advises, “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” Associating with those who share our values and encourage spiritual growth helps protect us from negative influences and keeps us accountable.

4. Guard your eyes and ears: In a world filled with visual and auditory temptations, it is essential to be mindful of what we expose ourselves to. Jesus warns in Matthew 6:22-23, “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” By being selective about the media we consume, the conversations we engage in, and the environments we frequent, we can safeguard our hearts from impurity and negativity.

5. Seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance: The Holy Spirit is our constant companion and guide, empowering us to make wise choices and discern between right and wrong. By surrendering to the Holy Spirit’s leading, we allow Him to transform our hearts and protect us from the snares of the enemy.

Guarding our hearts biblically is not a one-time task but a lifelong commitment. By implementing these practical steps and relying on God’s strength, we can protect our innermost being from the influences that seek to corrupt and distract us. As we guard our hearts, we create space for God’s love, peace, and joy to flourish within us, enabling us to live a life that honours Him and blesses others.

We must not neglect our physical bodies amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. However, as believers, we are called to honour God with our bodies and recognise them as temples of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible teaches us that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We are created in the image of God, and our bodies serve as vessels for His glory. Therefore, it is essential to value and care for our physical well-being.

2. Balanced Nutrition:

Proper nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy body. The Bible provides guidance on nourishing our bodies with wholesome foods. In Genesis 1:29, God initially prescribed a plant-based diet for humanity. While dietary practices have evolved over time, the principles of balance, moderation, and gratitude remain relevant. We should strive to consume a variety of nutrient-rich foods, avoiding excessive indulgence or harmful substances.

Earning a Living – Godly Entrepreneurship: Building Businesses with Kingdom Values

Entrepreneurship is a powerful avenue for creativity, innovation, and economic growth. As believers, we have the opportunity to approach entrepreneurship with a godly perspective, aligning our business endeavors with Kingdom values.

Here are practical ways to build businesses that honour God and positively impact society.

1. Seeking God’s Guidance:

The foundation of godly entrepreneurship lies in seeking God’s guidance and aligning our business ventures with His will. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” By seeking God’s wisdom through prayer, studying His Word, and listening to the Holy Spirit’s leading, we can make decisions that align with His purposes and bring glory to His name.

2. Integrity and Ethical Practices:

Integrity is a fundamental aspect of godly entrepreneurship. Proverbs 11:3 states, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” As entrepreneurs, we should prioritize honesty, transparency, and ethical practices in all aspects of our businesses. This includes fair treatment of employees, customers, suppliers, and competitors, as well as responsible financial management.

3. Kingdom Impact:

Godly entrepreneurship goes beyond profit-making; it seeks to make a positive impact on society and advance God’s Kingdom. Matthew 5:16 encourages us, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” By integrating our faith into our business practices, we can create products or services that meet genuine needs, promote social justice, and contribute to the well-being of individuals and communities.

4. Servant Leadership:

Godly entrepreneurship involves adopting a servant leadership mindset. Jesus exemplified this when He said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). As entrepreneurs, we should prioritize serving others, whether it be our employees, customers, or the wider community. By valuing and investing in people, we create a positive work environment and foster long-term relationships built on trust and respect.

5. Wise Stewardship:

Entrepreneurs are entrusted with resources, talents, and opportunities. Godly entrepreneurship involves wise stewardship of these blessings. Luke 12:48 reminds us, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” By managing our resources responsibly, minimizing waste, and considering the environmental impact of our businesses, we demonstrate good stewardship and care for God’s creation.

6. Balancing Work and Rest:

In the pursuit of entrepreneurial success, it is crucial to maintain a healthy work-life balance. God designed us to rest and find refreshment in Him. By prioritizing rest, observing the Sabbath, and setting boundaries, we prevent burnout and create space for spiritual and personal growth. This balance allows us to approach our businesses with renewed energy, creativity, and a clear focus on God’s priorities.

Conclusion:

Godly entrepreneurship involves seeking God’s guidance, practicing integrity and ethical practices, prioritizing Kingdom impact, embracing servant leadership, practicing wise stewardship, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. By integrating these principles into our entrepreneurial endeavors, we can build businesses that honour God, positively impact society, and contribute to the advancement of His Kingdom. As we align our entrepreneurial pursuits with godly values, we can experience fulfillment, purpose, and the joy of partnering with God in His work of transformation.

Running On Empty

Refresh your Spirit, Body & Soul!

This week I nearly ran out of diesel in my car, the fuel gauge has been stuck for a while and I knew I should go and fill up the car with diesel as I’d been back and forth to work and locally. Lucky, the warning beep came on to make me go and fill up.

We can find ourselves running on empty if we don’t pay attention to our spiritual lives.

As part of my self discipline I read several daily Bible plans on the Bible app daily before I leave the house or get up. Nicky Gumble, Joyce Meyer and then a topic based plan to help me grow my faith. Reads the topics with a godly friend that I feel is bringing me closer to God and my calling and fostering brotherly love in Christ. #christianfriendship

Have you ever heard anyone say “The Body Is The Temple of The Holy Spirit?

I can easily walk my 30 minutes to maintain fitness when I am working in Lewes but on the days I work from home it would be tempting to stay in and not go out. Thankfully I am blessed with the gift of a health club membership from a family member. Recently, I’ve got up earlier and had an early morning swim before I start my day.

There is a spa there too which is so rejuvenating.

Then I try and consume nutritional food and recently took up a subscription with Live Good and have been take Magnesium tablets which have helped me sleep better. I have also been having a Protein Shake, then a boiled egg and piece of toast (sour dough) for breakfast .

Last week I had a flare up with pain my stomach which resulted in sickness so I am trying to be careful with what I eat and drink now.

I’m planning to buy the Organic Coffee this month.

We have different types of coffee in our house, Lor being my favourite but it is quite pricey really and the Organic Coffee comes in a large container .

Skin wise I use Tropic which is made from Fruit & Vegetables. Such as life, I’ve always had sensitive skin and as an Empath I am sensitive in my heart and soul too. Though I get my guidance from the Holy Spirit not other divinations as some Empaths seem to.

This spiritual gift I’ve inherited from my father who past away at the young age of 67.

He didn’t have the spiritual covering that I have now.
